does any one use type 2 or edacs in Darwin

im planning for my trip in November

UNIDEN XLT72
DSE DF radio *old as the hills
ACER LAPTOP with all the software required to pick up data carriers (eg- acars, weather fax, SSTV etc)

im planning for my trip in November
Tasmania and Victoria are the only places using EDACS in Australia.
There used to be an EDACS system at Gladstone, but I believe they are now using a digital system
