Uniden Bc296D

Post by Rickie3 »

G,day wondering if someone here could offer some advise please, I recently purchased a uniden BC296D, I live on the north west of Tasmania i'm trying ta add some police freqs so I can trunk the system, but with this radio I can only enter 4 of the 5 freqs, and in order to trunk the freqs they have to be in order so I dont hear those annoying over and out beeps, these are the freqs
LCN1 - 865.5125
LCN2 - 866.5125
LCN3 - 867.5125
LCN4 - 868.5125
LCN5 - 869.5125
I cant input freq LCN5 - 869.5125 radio says out of band, anyway upon checking the coverage this scanner goes from:
806.0-823.9875Mhz NFM
849.0125-868.9875Mhz NFM
and 894.0125-956.0Mhz NFM
so it obvious to me this radio is unable to take the freq 869.5125 which is a let down, now ive been reading around the internet about Rebanding, ive tried this but found the steps confusing and have had no success, I also read that the above LCN can be programmed into a lower 800Mhz Freq is this correct? I beleive this radio originally came from the states any help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem you have, is that you have a scanner designed for the American market, and not the Australian market. There is nothing you can do to fix the problem.

Rebanding has nothing to do with your problem.
