what radio frequencies do the careflight helicopters and the emq helicopter use when flying in and out of medical evacs in towns away from brisbane

That depends on the circumstances.

They may use the local hospital frequencies (such as Towoomba General), or they may use the local QAS frequencies.

It is my understanding that medical evacs, in part, are coordinated by QAS.

Yes, I've heard them here in Toowoomba.

472.5750 FM 12.50 MEDICAL Toowoomba Base Hospital - Wards etc.

Also on normal BNE Control are frequencies.
