SDR USB info
Wondering if anyone here has been using a SDR USB with success? I have only just discovered they are available (bit slow on the uptake)
Keen to hear your thoughts on them.
Cheers

Yes, I use one and they are great. You can do lots and lots of things with them, decoding, satellite signals, meteors, emergency service, etc. I use mine for decoding pager messages.

Re: SDR USB info
For a crystal SDR which has a little bit of frequency drift about $20-$40 for a TXCO SDR which won't have any frequency drift anywhere from $60-$80 but they don't drift after the unit warms up making them perfect for static monitoring ie pager decoding.

Re: SDR USB info
I use 2 of them:
- one for GRN control channel monitoring.
- one for DMR/P25/NXDN/etc decoding.
I can listen to far more useful things with a couple of $30 USB sticks and an old laptop than I can do with any of the scanners currently on the market - not that I'll be selling off the digital scanners just yet.

Re: SDR USB info
Well, pretty true... Any of the current OS should work fine! People have had success with most of the windows families as well as Linux and Mac I believe.
I don't think Windows 3.11 would be supported well
I would be fairly certain that you would be working very hard to get it working on the Commodore 64!

Re: SDR USB info
Thanks for the info bud, got it up and running tonight. Had some initial issues with the link from SDR to PDW, but all seems good and it's running solidly now.
