Is TASPOL encrypted statewide?

Post by SteveNSWP »

Just curious if Police across TAS statewide are encrpyed, or are there some areas/channels that are still analogue or digital clear and if so, what areas are still able to be scanned?

Thanks for your replies.

Historically EDACS provoice encryption was used throughout. In recent years general duties have reverted back to analog due reception issues. Non-general duties remains encrypted. In 2017 harris corp will no longer provide support for Edacs. I would expect 420mhz p25 phase ii trunking solution with Aes encryption as the most likely transition
