Portable Scanning Session - Freelands Lookout

Post by tanger32au »

Today I spent about an hour undertaking a portable scanning session at Freelands Lookout Reserve, in Trevallyn. This came about as I installed a new mount in my car and wired up my cars radio aerial with a BNC connector to allow me to use this with my scanners, I wanted to give this a test run.

Below is a list of the frequencies I logged active, the UHF band was a bit of a mess due to the closeness of the various commercial two way and FM broadcast band transmitters. Close call again proved useless due to the above overloading it. Here is a link to the transmitters at this location. It is a mix of Launceston City Council, Metro buses, TasWater (Data) and St Johns Ambulance: http://web.acma.gov.au/pls/radcom/site_ ... =frequency
