Office closures as ACMA adopts flying-squad approach

Post by Guest »

18th May 2009

THE federal Government has ordered the closure of Australian Communications & Media Authority offices in Perth and Adelaide, with the expected loss of 13 jobs.

The move to shut the offices was revealed in last week's federal budget.

It will lead to savings of $2.1 million over four years, although extra funding of $700,000 will be allocated this year to cover costs associated with the closures.

ACMA chairman Chris Chapman confirmed the cutback.

Only 13 jobs within two offices? Unless they're moving some of them to other offices?
